AR Accelerated Reader Parent Letter EDITABLE

This editable parent letter is a great way to introduce the Accelerated Reader (AR) program and explain what it is all about! It has some basic information, a place to list the child's colors (or reading levels) and some questions they can use at home to help their child continue to grow in their reading ability. I send a copy home and also include one in a sheet protector in the child's AR Folder. It would also make a great addition to Parent Teacher Conferences.

This is how I personally use Accelerated Reader in my classroom. It starts with a simple letter home that talks about AR. It has bookmarks that you can copy and use for each student, where they can record the book and their score, to keep a running record. I like to copy these on cardstock or to laminate them and then have them write with sharpie. There is a reading log that they can use each week. Then there is a book report for the book they read that week. There is also a page of blank fish.
